  • Highway 101 becomes 4 lanes, with concrete on the LEFT & asphalt at the right. This is the last segment of US-101 to be built as freeway/expressway standards. Before this freeway was built in 1983-1984, US-101 was routed along Monterey road west of this freeway, which was known as a "slaughter alley" with about 70 fatalities due to car accidents. In 2003, this freeway was widened to 8 lanes, since the freeway south of Cochrane road already had 6 lanes before this freeway opened. | 9 May 2010

"Great course in great condition. The greens are in excellent shape and can be tricky at times as none of them are flat. Not an impossible course if you play smart golf."
